Xtend+Climb ladders are made of lightweight 6061 Alloy, commonly used in the aerospace industry. This makes these ladders lightweight and easily carried with the integrated carrying handle but strong enough for the contractor or do-it-yourselfer to stand up to any job. When closed these ladders are as short as 27 inches on the shortest model but can extend to 15-1/2 feet on the tallest model. That’s the equivalent to having a normal 19-1/2 foot extension ladder! These are so compact you can easily store it in your trunk but have a full height ladder when you need it. Talk about the best of both worlds.

The Xtend+Climb ladders feature True Telescoping Technology that makes them the only ladders in the world that are able to extend and lock to your desired height just by using your foot! This is not only easier to use but makes the Xtend+Climb telescoping extension ladders safer than most other telescoping ladders on the market today.

We also feature a telescoping step ladder, folding step stools, stable step stools, carrying cases, and protective covers for the telescoping extension ladders.

The AES Raptor All-in-One Safety Railing System is currently being used on a job in Chicago. In addition to being easily installed on a parapet wall, the contractor wanted a system he could use on another job with a gravel stop edge. The All-in-One can be used on low edges, gravel stops, parapet walls and even concrete slab overhangs. The railing brackets, which accept lumber 2×4′s or steel railings, can be adjusted vertically and rotated around the post, so setting up corners and strange geometries is simple. When you’re all done, the base and parapet clamp store in one convenient, self-contained piece and, if you purchased a kit, can then be stored in a heavy duty, steel crate that protects the product and makes it easy to load, unload, fork and hoist.

The AES Raptor All-in-One posts are available individually, as a 200 ft kit or a 400 ft kit. In addition to a steel crate for loading and hoisting, the kits include a nice mix of 10 ft rails and adjustable rails to accommodate just about every application. The All-In-One Safety Railing System is so versatile, simple to use and aesthetically pleasing, it may be the last safety railing system you’ll ever need to buy!

Paint roller frames are often used to spread roofing bonding adhesive, but some contractors are reporting that certain types of adhesives are causing their roller frames to break. The problem is caused by solvent-based adhesives. We don’t know the science behind it, but somehow the chemicals found in the solvent-based adhesive eat away at the plastic handle on the roller frames and cause damage. We’ve had reports of the plastic handle cracking or the metal rod spinning freely inside the plastic handle, making it impossible to continue use.

Want to eliminate this problem? Our new 9 inch heavy duty roller frames are designed specifically for the roofing contractor and this application. We won’t bore you with details of plastic composition, molds and rod swedges, but we’ve made improvements to all these factors! After getting our hands on the new and improved roller frames, we focused on testing the frames under EXTREME conditions. First, we submerged our 9″ Heavy Duty Roller Frame in a 5 gallon bucket of solvent-based adhesive for over a week. We then pulled it out, screwed in a 5 ft metal threaded wood handle and began rolling solvent-based adhesive. We thought a week of full submersion in glue would result in a ruined or flimsy roller frame, but what we found was a roller frame that refused to break! We really leaned on the handle and frame to try and snap it, but it wouldn’t break. If these roller frames can withstand a weeklong glue bath and our abusive testing, they’ll easily withstand normal use on your next project! Visit our store for current pricing and more information.

Mobile Fall Protection Systems are a great solution when there’s no place for workers to tie-off for fall protection! However, the mounting and positioning of self-retracting lifelines (SRL’s) on mobile fall protection carts is problematic.

Problem #1: Currently, SRL’s are NOT being positioned according to manufacturer guidelines on mobile fall protection carts! According to DBI/Sala’s guidelines for SRL use in horizontal or near horizontal applications, “The SRL should be positioned on it’s edge, rather than laid flat, to prevent uneven spooling of the lifeline and to benefit retraction.” (Source: Capital Safety Technical Bulletin No. SRL001, read point #1).

Solution: The AES Raptor SRL Tray… Meets manufacturer guidelines for SRL use by keeping the SRL in the proper position.

Problem #2: Dragging an SRL can potentially damage the SRL AND damage the surface of the roof! SRL’s are left to hang off the side of fall protection carts and are often dragged across the roof surface when repositioning the cart.

Solution: The AES Raptor SRL Tray… Prevents damage to SRL’s AND damage to the roof surface by keeping the SRL’s above the roof surface.

In addition to solving the problems listed above, the SRL-Tray:

Installs easily to all existing AES Raptor fall protection carts

Requires no complex assembly

Simply bolts on over guide box

Is spring loaded to fold up when not in use

Years ago, AES Raptor LLC revolutionized the fall protection industry with an innovative new product allowing workers to tie off to a mobile anchor point when there’s no other place to tie off, preventing the risk of a fall. Raptor started out with 100 percent market share. Brent Smith, President of AES Raptor LLC, applied for a patent in 2006 and within months, copycats emerged. The patent was issued to AES Raptor in August, 2013. On Feb. 1, the company filed lawsuits against four copycats, including Garlock Equipment Co., that are allegedly infringing on the patent.

It’ll be interesting to see how things develop from here… Will the copycats be forced to write a check to Raptor Safety? Will they be able to work around the patent? “I’m not against competition as long as it’s fair competition and you come up with your own ideas,” Smith said. To read the full article, visit AES Raptor claws back against copycats of its patented safety product.

Strolling through the 2013 IRE, we stopped next to the crowd gathered at the GAF booth. A GAF representative quickly walked over and asked if we had any questions. We told him that we were interested in the hand held heat welder being used for welding TPO in their demonstration (see picture). He told us that they partnered with BAK for heat welding tools and equipment and the tool being used in their booth is the BAK Rion hand welder. With many options for heat welding tools, GAF selected BAK to meet the demands of their live demonstrations at the 2013 IRE!
